Sustainable Material Development

The goal of this project was to design a chess set that looked cohesive, distinguishable, and innovative. I knew that I wanted this project to surround my love for the environment and sustainability, so I examined it through a material lens and attempted to make a hard, plastic-like biomaterial out of discarded rice from my university’s dining hall.
